leo Paul Grunbaum was born on
27 April 1864 in Czechoslovakia as
the son of Victor Hugo
Grunbaum. He married Rebecca
Spiegel on 11 January 1891, in
King, Washington, United States.
They were the parents of at least
2 daughters. He lived in Boise,
Ada, Idaho, United States for
about 10 years from 1893 to
1913. His businesses, including
his liquor store, were located on
Main Street. He also briefly
operated a brewery from 1910 to
1911. He died in 1946 in Santa
Clara, California, at the age of 81.
This jug is the only one known
that is labeled “Boise City”. There
are there known existing
examples, both ½ gal.
