F. C. Brown started his Pioneer Soda factory in Idaho City in 1866
or 67. The rush for gold in Idaho, started in 1861, and rich
deposits were located in the Boise Basin in 1862. Idaho City being
the main population center in the district. Brown had his
embossed bottles blown at the Pacific Glass Works and he
enjoyed 2 years of relative prosperity.
