David A. Jones of Bellevue, Idaho was born in Iowa in 1878, and there he spent the first twenty-three years of his life. His education in pharmacy was pursued at Northwestern University in Chicago. After the completion of college he accepted a position in the Polyclinic Hospital, St. Louis, the medical department of Wesleyan University, and after a year and a half spent there, he came west to Idaho in 1901. His first location was at Idaho Falls, where for two years he worked in a drug store. From there he went to Hailey, where he was similarly employed for the next three years. From Hailey he came to Bellevue were he opened a drug store and established himself in a permanent business.
